...and i'm not afraid to admit it.
normally i would LOVE to make some cute and creative valentine treats for my kids to share with their friends.
but, it just didn't work out this year.
and that's okay.
enough with the mom guilt already.
have a guilt-free, fun weekend.

as long as there was no Hannah Montana involved you're golden :}
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so happy to know that a very crafty talented mama did store bought V's. That is what we have over here :)
ReplyDeleteI ordered valentines....online. Didn't even go to the store. =)
ReplyDeleteI got valentines in the mail yesterday from my niece and nephew - they were storebought, but it didn't make them any less cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you! It's the thought that counts, right? I don't think the kids will have any guilt. :)
ReplyDeleteNot only did we do store bought this year but we're not even adding candy to them. My kids thought I was the meanest mom in the world when I told them that.
ReplyDeletesince when do you watch star wars???and quote it???
ReplyDeleteWe got Tangled ones this year! $3.77 AND with glitter tattoos?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't beat that with homemade (in a 4 year olds eyes)
Last year we spent hours and hours making hand-made valentines cards for my girls to take to school - but when we went through the ones they received from their friends every single one was store-bought. It was a little discouraging. I went out and bought Valentines cards at the 50% off table at Wal-Mart. Oh well.

ReplyDeletejami,
ReplyDeletei do not watch star wars or know any quotes from the movie.
look closely, it's the quote on caedmon's valentine.
lol.
thank you. i needed that. because i did the same and i was feeling really guilty and sad?! now i feel better! haha!
ReplyDeletemy son even asked me NOT to do something with his picture or some clever phrase on it this year and i STILL am struggling to buy ones from the store. sadly my hang up is less guilt and more image. i needed this post.
ReplyDeletelove it! guilt free :)
ReplyDeleteI will still love you:) heehee
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome...time to get rid of the guilt!
ReplyDeleteSo did I! Valentine's day totally snuck up on me this year. I even used the leftover ones from last year to boot! I was proud though when Hunter brought his Valentines home and only one other kid in class wrote her own name on her valentines.
ReplyDeleteI loved these as a kid (I got all excited about sorting them and choosing the "right one" for each friend!), and if your kids like them, that's all the matters here...
ReplyDeletei went store bought this year too! and i am ok with it:) the kiddos love them anyways~ happy weekend chick!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure your kids liked having the store bought ones better.
ReplyDeletePssst....that's Anakin Skywalker :) And, he says it when he's Darth Vader. So, I'm a scrapper and a Star Wars geek, what can I say?!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya, enough with the Mom guilt! Like there's not enough to do and I think they like the store bought ones better (especially boys).
They're super-cute! And so are your kids!
ReplyDeletePsst...my step-son is totally into the NBA and the Dollar Store had NBA V-tines. Yes, thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's really easy to feel inadequate when reading a lot of blogs but the blog isn't the whole story. You should never compare yourself to other moms and feel bad when you don't do everything as 'perfect' as they do.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with that. You are a very busy woman! And I love the choices!
ReplyDeletegood for you! :)
ReplyDeleteI thought I might tell you, I BOUGHT my girls' valentine's at Target and when my husband said "You're not making them?" I said, Nah.. Emily said it's ok if I don't.
ReplyDeletehaha.. there you go, creepin' in my husband and I's conversations.. weirdo.
