so, how ironic that a new ethiopian restaurant just opened up this week in KC, and the name happens to be, Elsa's. crazy, eh?
i decided to take elsa there...along with my grandparents and caedmon.
{so excited about a restaurant with her name on it}
turns out, the owner's name is elisabeth...and goes by elsa...so apparently the name elsa isn't so "americanized" after all. i was happy to learn this.
our plate of food = a delish treat from the heavens.
elsa thoroughly enjoyed her ethiopian cuisine.
in fact she ate more than my grandpa, grandma and me combined did.
no lie.
and caedmon thoroughly enjoyed his granola bar.
he took 2 bites of the ethiopian food and then decided he didn't like it.
i was proud of him for trying though.
i found that granola bar tucked away inside my bag...prolly from like 2 months ago...the kid was starving.
caedmon snapped a picture of elsa and i.
either elsa makes me look really white, or i make her look really dark.
or, maybe that's just the way we really are?
i mean, i know it's been like 14 years since i've been able to get tan and keep a tan (what's up with that?) but i didn't think i was that pasty?
hmmm, maybe so.
good times.
if you are in the KC area then you should definitely check this little gem of a restaurant out.
i can't tell you how sweet the owners were...and how delish the food was.
you won't be disappointed!

how fun! i bet elsa was like...finally...some normal food. poor thing. she has to eat granola bars and such.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to check that place out since I live in KC! How sweet that little miss got to have Ethiopian food. And it looks like she really enjoyed herself!
ReplyDeletehow awesome! I love the photo at the end too, you both look just perfect :)
ReplyDeleteCrazy! We live in KC...will have to take out little Ethiopian guy there! Seems like KC has a hard time keeping Ethiopian restaurants open...where is Elsa's? You are all so cute together :)
ReplyDeleteHi Emily, remember me from college? Love reading your blog by the way!
ReplyDeleteI thought that looked like downtown OP! My father in law lives within walking distance of that place! We will definitely have to check it out the next time we go back to KS. Also, Yemi (my Ethiopian 3 year old) always eats more Ethiopian food than any of us when we go out. She literally does not stop eating until every last bit of food is gone while the rest of us are moaning about how full we are. Love your cute family!
