olive is 3 months old today.
this, my friends, is why i'm feeling overwhelmed.
i always do when my babies hit 3 months old.
it's because i feel like i hit a wall. the lack of sleep has been going on for far too long.
not to mention i'm taking care of enough children to fill a daycare, only they all belong to me.
i'm sleepy. exhausted, really.
i am lucky that olive is only getting up once during the night, but regardless, that doesn't mean i'm not tired.
when she was first born, i was so alert every time i had to get up with her at night.
now, i hear her crying...groggily get up to get her...try to nurse her...wonder why she's still crying and not eating...then realize that i'm trying to nurse a teddy bear and not olive.
word.
sleepy i tell ya. sleepy.
enjoy a few outtakes of our 3 month old sesh.
here she is wondering why the hih-zell i woke her up for this:
and here she is watching daddy act a fool, trying to get her to smile:
oh, there ya go. it worked for a millisecond:
not so funny anymore, daddy. bored again:
here she is just being chubby. probably thinking about milk:
and all that thinking of milk made her want to find a nipple:
i love my olive.
okay. let's hope i don't try to nurse any more stuffed animals.
cause yah, that's awkward for all involved. (you know, me and the stuffed animal)

oh my goodness. what an adorable little chunker. hope you get some sleep soon mama, wish there was something I could do for you!
ReplyDeleteThis post totally cracked me up. I love that you tried feeding a teddy bear. So hilarious. Reminded me of a time I got up with my little one when she was around the same age. I was holding her and bouncing her up and down and saying shhhh and she kept crying... when I finally became coherent I realized she was upside down!! Oops. Yep, lack of sleep will make you do funny things. She is perfectly adorable and chubby!! Love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing I'm already pregnant, cause that chubby little face gives me total baby fever. Such an adorable hunk of baby!
ReplyDeleteyep…that's when I start to hit the wall too…this morning when I woke up to feed my baby I nearly fell because my eyes REFUSED to open! Keep up the good work Momma! She's SO precious! Love the rolls!

ReplyDeleteShe is so adorable. I like her little sobber sides. I think her cheeks are too chubby for her to smile long, hah. Can't believe that she is 3 months. I wish I was there to watch the kids while you take a nap.....just a nap not any longer, he he.
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable!
ReplyDeleteI have a 3 year old and a 5 month old. Love my little girls.but sleep...yea,never gonna happen!

ReplyDeleteI'll try to plug this one when someone complains about being tired breastfeeding !
ReplyDeleteThese pics (and Olive) are just adorable. I totally remember that wall, and how all that adrenaline just drains right out of you after a bit. I was in that fuzzy haze way too long with my last baby, but I feel it lifting. I know you'll have your groove back in no time!

ReplyDeleteLook at that baby double chin!! Ahh, could eat her up!
ReplyDeletemy wall is 4months...which we are in right now, and oh girl. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN.
ReplyDeleteOlive is adorable, I think she and my son Luke should have a chubby baby competition. She probably wins on the chin, but my boy rocks some large man boobs.
Hmmm...in retrospect this comment got weird.

ReplyDeletemy word. i know when i comment on here, it's usually about your kids being SO STINKING ADORABLE, but my friend, it is true. you have by far the cutest kids. i wish i lived close to ya'll so i could baby sit all that adorableness. :)

ReplyDeleteP.S. I experienced the same emotions about Davy too turning 3 months! I was having a rough time around his 1st birthday & am still adjusting to the idea he is a "toddler". Gosh it went fast!! Iove your honesty on here! :)
