embrace the camera: 3/29/12

i laugh when i look at milo and me together.
people tend to think that we adopted milo as well...from guatemala.
i mean, sure...i can see it.
we've got a mama with white (read: pasty) skin.
bright green eyes.
platinum (all natural, ahem) blonde hair.

and then walking beside me is this little beach bum of a kid.
brown skin that only gets darker in the summer.
brown eyes that are so dark you can't even see his pupils.
and the hair.  well come on, we all know how fabulous this kids hair is.

and then, as i'm looking through photos and i see him make a face like this:
it's like a little confirmation from the heavens that yes, he is my son.
rock on with the duck face, milo.

your turn, lovelies!
here's the nitty gritty on embrace the camera:
1. take a picture of YOU with your kids, spouse, friends, etc. the point of embrace the camera is to get in front of the camera and to document a bit of yourself.
2. link up your POST, not your blog, that way we can see your embrace post.
3. link back to our blog by a text link or using our button in your post.
4. and lastly, have fun and visit each other!
leave each other lots of love---it's not easy to get in front of the camera---bravo to all of you who join us every week! your family will thank you for it one day :)

  1. Milo is definitely rocking that duck face. Very nice :).

  2. Haha handsomest little duck I ever saw!

  3. He's a cute little guy! I love reading all your posts and seeing photos of all the kids, but I loooove your embrace the camera days. I hope to remember to do this one day :)

  4. you are both cute, rocking the duck face. :) You are encouraging me to try and get some pictures of me with my boys with my 5D this week. :)

  5. Hahah he's so sweet! Your children are just so beautiful!

  6. this should be the only blog i read
    pure light

there are so many dark places...dark people...angry bloggers...I keep feeling surrounded by them
like they are trying to put out my light

    thank you for shining GOODNESS
you truly glorify the Lord with your life!

(and the song that you played is my wedding song...needed to hear that this morning)

  7. He is so handsome, I can't take it!

  8. Milo is awesome. When I first found your blog, one of the things that really cracked me up was Milo and his winky pinching. It still makes me laugh pretty hard. But, now I come back for other reasons :)

  9. i love how each of your kids has such distinct personality and it shines through on your blog.
    milo is pure awesomeness.

  10. adorable! :)
and your pics from yesterday are just precious, too.
    love them all!

  11. milo is precious!!

my son looks exactly like my husband and nothing like me.
the only time i see myself in him is when he makes a pouty face. :)

  12. His hair IS fabulous. My brother is like that though. My mother and I are both pasty white fair-skinned Irish chicks but my brother looks like a little Indian boy. Everyone always thought he was adopted too!

  13. I have boys that don't look like me either! But I distinctly remember their entrance to the world...

  14. milo is such a cutie.
(and all of your other children are too!)

  15. So cute.. both of you! It's my first time linking up with you for Embrace the Camera and I absolutely love the idea behind it! :)

  16. Love this! And I LOVE that you have "Beautiful Things" on your playlist, such a beautiful song!

  17. I love this! I feel the same way about my dark haired little ones who totally got the Asian genes from their papa...and then we got a blonde fair skinned one just like me, go figure!

  18. You are so cute!! I love visiting your blog. I leave it up most days so I can listen to your wonderful playlist :] Love your family!!

  19. I simply adore your glasses! Can you tell me the brand name? They are very fun!

    1. sure! they are from coastal.com and the brand name is derek cardigan.
      hope that helps!

  20. Adorable! I do see a resemblance in that last photo! So cute!

  21. I love these glasses!

  22. Milo does have some pretty awesome looking hair. My daughter looks so much like my husband, no one can tell she's mine unless they see her clinging to me.
