i wear the hat of many things in this house.
wife, mom, chef, maid, chauffeur, master butt wiper-er, nurse...the list never stops.
this weekend, i put on my hair dresser hat and cut little kohens' hair.
you might ask "but why, emily? it's so cute!"
well, you're right, it is cute...from the front.
truth be told, brotha had a rat tail growing in the back...i'm so ashamed of it that i didn't even document it with a photo.
it had to go.
so, i gave him an extra long tootsie roll for him to gnaw on, and went to town with the clippers.
he wasn't so thrilled about the good ol' haircut afterwards.
as if you couldn't tell.
pretty sure he's thinking "how dare you cut my hairs". (yes, he says it with an S on the end...just like he calls olive, oliveS...he loves to add the S)
he does this thing when he falls asleep (he's done it since he was a baby) where he grabs the top of his hair and rubs it---most kids hold onto a security blanket. he holds onto his hair.
so, when i cut it, he gets all wacky.
i spotted him last night, with his hand on top of his head, rubbing invisible hair.
saaaaaaaad.

Loooook at that face!!!! So cute.
ReplyDeletehe's still precious all the same...:)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh he's so darn cute!!! (my husband was a hair twirler when he was young, and he still is today..only now he twirls MY hair!)
ReplyDeleteHe looks adorable. My son holds/plays with his hair, too. Definitely a comfort thing.
ReplyDeleteThat is too cute! His pouty face is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAww he's so cute though even with that pout! I've been procrastinating over cutting my sons hair it being the big first hair cut and all. But he's got the same rat tail thing going on and now the front is getting in his eyes all the time. I'm going to have to cave soon too.
ReplyDeleteawwwww next time just cut the tail off the back LOL~
ReplyDeletepoor baby! he's so CUTE!
both ways!
tara
holy sha-moly he is adorable. i was laughing out loud (literally) reading about the "hairS" and "oliveS." what a sweet boy!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, it is sad.... but he looks so cute :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter holds on to her hair as well to fall asleep. Once it grew long enough, she started rubbing it on her face near her eye. I even have a photo of her rubbing her hair IN her eye.
ReplyDeleteMy not-quite-2-year-old rubs his hair when he gets REALLY tired too. I love it!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think he's feelin' it. Luckily he is adorable in both the before and the after.
ReplyDeletefunny thing is..I hold my hair to go to sleep! I don't rub it, just hold a lock of it and for some crazy reason it relaxes me. But I'm not nearly as cute as Cohen is...good grief...he is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteThose after pics are priceless...LOVE LOVE LOVE those lips!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie...short OR long hair!
ReplyDeleteI've got 3 boys myself and would LOVE a hair cutting tutorial. As it stands now, I wait until it's ridiculously long and take them to my hairdresser. Bleh! $$$$2
This is too funny. I adore his expressions. He totally speaks through his expressions. And don't worry about his funny speech. My mom and grandmom always add an 'S' to random words, like Wal-Marts.
ReplyDeletewal-marts. glorious.
DeleteOh my gosh. This post is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteAWWWWW! He's a cutie-pie any which way!!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh but hes so cute
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I actually laughed out loud when I scrolled down to the "after" picture. Not because of the haircut, because of the friggen AWESOME expression on his face. That was the best thing Ive seen all week. Thanks again for the smile!
ReplyDeleteawww look at that pouty face!! he looks devastated!!
ReplyDeleteaww he looks so cute! love that lip out.
ReplyDeletewhat a cute lil' dude!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable. I actually tried to stifle a laugh as if he could see me. Poor little man.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that pouty face is too stinkin cute!
ReplyDeleteI could just eat him up! Too cute! Very impressed with your hair cutting skills!
ReplyDeleteI played hair dresser with my daughter tonight! Can't imagine spending money to get her little head of hair cut, so I just do it. And like your little boy, her hair (really mine) is her security blanket so I try and teach her to play with her own hair instead of needing mine. :) Love your blog!
ReplyDeletewhoa, he looks so different! I hope he adds the "s" to walmart. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHe makes some pretty great faces...the haircut looks great!
