elsa had a birthday this weekend.
i wanted to celebrate big...i searched and searched for a beach house to stay in for a night or 2, but couldn't find one...then i decided that we should take a train to tampa and spend the night in a hotel there...but that didn't work out either.
i wanted her to feel special...so i was wracking my brain...trying to think of anything we could do that would be BIG.
nothing worked out.
so, we ended up inviting 2 of our favorite families over, having pizza and cupcakes and just hanging out on our back porch.
it turned out to be pretty special after all, thanks to good friends who love our elsa.
i love how kohen is trying to blow her candles out...very intently too.
i'm pretty sure the cupcakes got a spit shower thanks to k-man.
and would ya look at that:
a family picture y'all!
and count 'em---there are 8 pairs of eyes looking in the general direction of the camera.
holla.
so, even though this wasn't the beach...or the train...or the zoo...it was a good time with sweet friends who love our family like it was their own.
and i'm pretty sure elsabeth thought it was pretty special too.
happy birthday, elsa.

ReplyDeleteAnd I bet to Elsa, it was a totally awesome birthday. I find myself trying to outdo myself sometimes too... but we have to remember to a child all they want is you. Your time. Your attention. Maybe a few gifts and a birthday cake :)
Looking back at my childhood, I was the youngest of four- and birthdays were always simple because we didn't have a lot of money. But I was surrounded by those I loved, and what I remember most is everyone singing happy birthday to me. They are perfect memories and I always felt on top of the world.
Happy Birthday Elsa!
