a little bit of this, a little bit of that.

olive will be 9 months old tomorrow.
she's doing a lot of this:
which basically turned into this, in like a day:
that's my baby, pushing her baby.
she is trying to win the award for smallest human ever to walk.

none of my other kids were this quick to try and be mobile.
i like her just sitting and being cute, thankyouverymuch.

are you attending influence?  it's just around the corner!
i am a community leader for this conference and will be hosting an adoption meet-up on friday night.  it will be a fun, casual time to hang out and ask any adoption related questions, as well as share our adoption stories.
if you are a mama who has adopted OR if you are considering adoption in your future, i'd love to have you join us!

today, all the community leaders are hosting a "meet and greet" so we can get to know each other (all the attendees) a bit better before the conference.  we know that coming into a conference can be scary if you don't know anyone, PLUS, some of you may be on the fence about coming so hopefully this might help you finally decide!
here's the info you need to know about our meet and greet blog posts...if you're attending, join us by writing up your post and linking up below!

Write:
-3 "get to know me" things
-2 things I'm excited about the conference
-1 thing I can't leave home without

"Rules"
-Have a ticket to the conference
-visit the person who linked up before you and introduce yourself...
(you only need to link up on one of our blogs and it will show up on all of them)
---
and now for my answers:

3 "get to know me" things:
1.  chocolate is my love language.  so is sleep.  buy me some chocolate or babysit my kids so i can take a nap and i'll love you forever.
2.  we choose to eat pretty healthy foods.  but on the day my youngest moves out, i'm buying myself a big old box of lucky charms and eating it all in one sitting.
3.  i have an obsession with keeping my floors clean.

2 "things i'm excited about" regarding the conference:

1.  sharing a room with my best friend.  it'll be like college all over again.  except now we have 9 kids between the 2 of us and instead of staying up late and talking, we'll probably zonk out at 9:30pm.
2.  a weekend away from my kids.  is that bad that i'm really excited about this aspect of it?
and actually i could go on and on...not having to cook my own food, getting to have uninterrupted conversations, meeting new friends...

1 "thing i can't leave home without":

1.  my breast pump.  too much information?  i thought so.

---
so come, on...if you are on the fence about influence, might i encourage you to come?
the connection you make with other women might be reason enough to get your booty there.  aside from the speakers, great parties and awesome food.

  1. I think the dream would be to eat a tray of chocolate brownies while laying in bed knowing that you will then be able to take a long uninterrupted nap afterewards, no? I am super excited about Influence and really hope to meet both you and Jami in person! ~Bri~

  12. Can I borrow your obsession with clean floors? That's something I like but never have, and I figure an obsession might help me do something about it :) And you're not the only one looking forward to a break from the job part of being a mom--so no guilt! Looking forward to meeting you!

    1. i don't know if i can give up that obsession. it's rather not fun when you have kids because, well, YOUR FLOORS ARE NEVER CLEAN. ya know? so i'm always freakishly cleaning them. it's dumb really.

      can't wait to meet ya!

  16. I'm so with you on clean floors! When I was in middle school my dad opened a professional carpet cleaning business and employed my sister and I as his "helpers". I have such a different perspective on carpet and ANY kind of flooring now haha. Excited to meet you!
