i'll always remember that prior to being a mom, all i wanted was boys.
i was gonna be a mom with lots and lots of boys...i didn't need any girls.
i know a lot of those feelings stemmed from having a not-so-sweet relationship with my own mother. i was just so sure that if i had girls, i wouldn't enjoy them, and there would be no chance of us ever having a good relationship.
but then, i had a girl...then two...and now three.
and i've realized what a gift it is, to have three girls.
god has shown me that it doesn't have to be the same.
that, with grace, i can have a relationship with these girls...much like the relationship i always yearned for with my own mother.
olive was snoozing during our mini photo session...but i couldn't leave her out of this post :)

ReplyDeleteComing from a family of three girls i know the tensions that can arise in the home! I have the deepest love and respect for my mother {though we, at times, fought like cats and dogs} but now that i am married and on my own i see how everything she did she did out of love and to protect us and point us to Jesus! Excited for you and your adventure with your daughters :) LOVE their skirts {and yours!}
ReplyDeletethanks for this comment morgan :)
DeleteBeautiful pictures! And olive is so pretty with her big smile!
ReplyDeleteYou and your girls are beautiful and I love the matching skirts! I have always said I never want more than 1 girl because of the rocky relationship I've had with my sister. So of course I know the Lord is going to bless me with a whole sorority to change my heart. Isn't that how He always works! :) I love that He has given you the grace to overcome your feelings and that you have the gift of 3 beautiful little ladies!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics Emily! Your girls are lucky to have such a wonderful, God loving Mama like you! Blessings to you and..... I do love those skirts :)
