this post is brought to you by randomness.
enjoy.

first of all, i won't be around the rest of the week. i am leaving bright and early tomorrow morning (5:30 to be exact) for the airport, to head to the influence conference.
i can't believe it's finally here! i am so excited to meet a lot of you in person. please say hi! but be prepared because i'm a hugger. and not like an awkward side hugger, but a good hugger.
i will also be hosting an adoption workshop while there. this will be a really laid back time for moms who have adopted, are in the process of adopting OR are just plain curious about it---come join me!
if you are planning on attending, be thinking of some questions you might have. i want to use the time for us all to be able to ask and answer questions. i feel like we can all learn from each others experiences and knowledge---and encouragement!
---
earlier in the week, i briefly considered bringing olive along with me. i figured it would help mr. anderson, plus she would be easy, right?
wrong.
she woke me up that very night approximately 32 times.
that was a definite confirmation from the lord that she is to stay home.
{here she is practicing her karate kid moves}
---
we had 6 little guests in our bed, bright and early saturday morning.
one day, i'm sure i'll miss those wake up calls.
---
my oldest son decided to try out for the jump rope team.
and he made it!
ahhhhhh yeah.
he is now an official hip hopper (the name of the jump rope team--of course--how clever)
---
i'm going to miss all my little faces while i'm gone, but especially this one:
this kid kills me with his eyes.
why yes kohen, you can have everything that you've ever wanted.
mr. anderson and i were talking about how much more kohen gets to do, than caedmon ever got to do.
just the other day kohen walked up to me and said "what the heck mom!"
and it didn't even catch me off guard...but had caedmon said that when he was 2? i would have thought my world was coming to an end. my 2 year old said "heck!" the horror.
he also enjoys all the shows that caedmon watches now, as an 8 year old.
never would have happened with caedmon---it was all elmo the first 4 years of his life.
plus he knows like all the words to taylor swifts new song "weeeeeeee are never ever ever, getting back together."
it's kind of amazeballs to hear him sing it.
---
okay y'all, so on thursday, make sure to embrace the camera---but i won't have a link up.
enjoy the rest of your week!

i'm so glad to know my youngest isn't the only one growing up too quickly.
ReplyDeletemy 8 year old is sorta obsessed with 'good luck charlie'.
it's like a REAL person show.
like with real people!
no more cartoons for her!
jeez!
so, of course... my 3 year old's fav show?
you guessed it, 'good luck charlie'.
apparently she LOVES teddy.
you know, she's SOOOO pretty.
this, according to my 3 year old.
oh man.
these kids crack me up.
for my first it was all about Dora and Boobah.
did you ever see that wonderous show?!?!?!
haha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
google it!
my first watched it all the time.
anyway... have fun at influence.
wish i was going.
i'd hug you for sure (in NOT a weird creepy way).
i'm totally a full on hugger too!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (those are all my hugs! ha ha!)
xo
Love.
ReplyDeleteI am the same way with my oldest/youngest sons. I also think while I hold my oldest to a bit of higher expectations, he also got to do a lot of things earlier because we were overeager parents (soccer at 3? SURE! One on one sleepovers at grandmas? Yeah!).
Kohens eyes kill me. They are going to be lady melters for sure!
bring kohen with you to influence. i will babysit him for you and give him everything he wants. in a non creepy way of course.
ReplyDeletethis comment made me LOL.
Deleteha ha ha, so true! My youngest does all sorts of things at his age that I would have FREAKED out about had my older son done it when he was younger. The hard life of the oldest :)
ReplyDeleteYour kids are adorable! I know you'll miss them but... sleep! Anyway, just to prepare you, I will be the weird blonde girl flying out of KC at the same time as Jami. My name is Therese, and I'm more tolerable once you get to know me :o)
ReplyDeletetherese, you were amazing. glad we got to hang!
Deletehave a great time at influence. i am hoping there will be one next year and i can attend! how in the world does your husband take care of all six kiddos??? mine has a hard time with three and that is when i run to target....lol!! and yes, there is something very different about subsequent children. my eight month old watches tv with his sisters, which i am sure is doing some kind of permanent damage to his brain. anyway, have a great time!
ReplyDeletemr. anderson is amazing with our kids. i am blessed!
DeleteWhat a great post : ) Emily, I can't be there for your adoption seminar, but how I wish I were able to go!! We are 3 months in to our adoption wait, and I would love to hear your encouragement. Maybe a post-conference blog on the questions asked and your response? That would be "amazeballs"...you are so funny.
ReplyDeletegood idea! i might do that post :)
Deletelove the picture of the sisters smooching.
ReplyDeletehave a great time at the conference!!
have a great time at influence! hadley kissing olive ~ sweetness!!
ReplyDeleteSO JEALOUS !! I literally live 5 minutes away from the confrence, and my favorite bloggers are going to be there...but I'm stuck with a work project. Bummer !!
ReplyDeletelucy is our kohen! i wish i could be there to give you a hug. you and jami are gonna rock it!
ReplyDeleteSo bummed I'm going to miss influence AND one of those hugs. I am praying for your safe travels (even though at this point you are here in good 'ol Indiana!) and that you have a marvelous time at the conference. Especially at the adoption round table - super bummed about not being at that. Enjoy Indy, enjoy the Keystone Mall (my fave!) and enjoy the fellowship time!!!
