on thursday, i'll go potty.

this kid turns 3 this week.

{necklace c/o: noonday}

he is turning into such a creatively awesome little boy.
the baby that i've always thought of him to be, is long gone...with the exception of diapers.
he still refuses to get rid of those.
he always tells me "on thursday, i'll go potty in the big boy potty."
well, many thursdays have passed and he is still rocking the dipes.

and p.s. yes, he needs a haircut.  but you all know i love my little men to have long hair.
somebody called him a girl yesterday.  awesome.

  1. I think his hair is precious.
My 4 year old tells me he's scared of going potty...or he says he needs to go like a big boy and rushes into the bathroom. No consistancy in this house!

  2. I love his hair...and his little plaid shirt...and I'm now going to start referring to diapers as dipes.

  8. No need for a haircut when you are this cute! Same goes for potty training. In my opinion it is one of the harder things we must do as mothers. Or maybe I'm just no good at it. :-)

  13. What a cutie! My boys had long hair too...adorable. Potty will come in due time. My 3 year old, Jett, is obsessed with potty books where you can see the kids backside. Hey, whatever works!

  14. My little guy turns 3 this week too (26th), got called a girl a couple of weeks ago, got a haircut last night and adamantly refuses to give up the dipes. What is it with boys and potty training?

  15. WOW how times flies Miss Emily!
That means i've been reading your bloggy for about the same time! I was pregnant with my little one when I started reading your blog and she turns 3 next month.
Ive been following your motherhood journey and am inspired at how much love you have to give. I only have one little kiddo so far, but I know my heart has a lot more love to give :)
PS - I also read Casey's blog and found it so cute you too actually met, and totally think Apple and Olive need to be BFF's
lots of love from me, in Australia x

  16. Both of my boys potty trained at 3 1/2 years old, less than a week to total potty use (day, night, pee, poop) with only 1-2 tiny accidents. Waiting is worth it!!

  17. Tell him you will feature him alone on "embrace the camera" if he goes on Thursday! Lol!

  18. My son didn't potty train until he was 3 1/2 years old and it drove my husband CRAZY! But like everything else in this young man's life, he does it when he's ready. And he does it well...once he was on the potty, he never looked back. It was awesome!
AND, my son (he's seven) gets called "her" and "she" all the time!! He has blonde, curly hair and it's not quite to the bottom of his neck. It's much longer than most (almost all) boys' hair. We let it up to him whether or not he wants it cut and it's always "no". He loves his hair and so do we! He's known by his hair! Your children are beautiful and he does not look like a girl!

  19. Happy Birthday to your boy! He really looks like Caedmon in that last photo.

My youngest two boys potty-trained after three. I really think it's easier to wait until they're ready.

  20. my son has curly hair and it's about the same length as your son's. he still gets called a girl, too. but i agree, love my little man with longer hair. your family is absolutley adorable!
