our family has been blessed by blog readers before, but i think this was the biggest surprise we've received.
a sweet reader, knew how much milo loves NASCAR and was able to give us tickets to the race in texas this weekend. not only did we get to go to the race, but we also received pit and garage passes! talk about a dream come true for milo!
i never, in a million years, would have thought i would be so excited to go to a nascar race.
but yet, there i was...walking around the garage area, giddy like a school girl.
you know when your kids absolutely LOVE something---you end up loving that too. and you end up just as excited when they get to enjoy that something as well.
that's what a mama's heart is all about.
so brace yourself for some nascar photos. i mean, i know you're so excited about it.
{yes, we are on the track. ON THE TRACK, people}
we headed into the garage area, and quickly found joey's car.
pure joy right there.
we got to actually walk all through the garage which was way cool.
yes, i even thought it was way cool.
seeing them get all the cars ready for the race was pretty incredible.
it was crazy...we'd just be standing there and then you'd hear a "coming through!" and you turn around and BAM. there's a race car right there...trying to get through to the track.
oh, okay. excuse me, race car.
{milo is saying "take a picture, quick! that's joey's car!}
across from each drivers garage was their trailer...so we hung out by joey's, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.
in the mean time, milo got a couple of autographs from a few other drivers.
i'm telling ya...if you're gonna like something, nascar is the thing to like.
they are SO GOOD to their fans. especially their little fans.
they love 'em.
milo kept getting moved up to the front of lines, to get autographs, pictures, hats...etc.
and the moment we've all been waiting for:
milo got to meet joey!
this moment right there MADE HIS LIFE.
after meeting joey and a few others...we decided to work our way up to our seats.
before exiting the track they let us walk down pit row and see all the cars, on the track, ready to race.
{soooo excited!}
time for the race to start!
racing is something else...it's SO LOUD. even with earplugs. the dull roar that ensues the entire time almost put me to sleep.
but not milo.
he was pumped the entire race.
it was one of the best days of his life (and maybe mine too...getting to see him so happy).
i know he won't ever forget it
that is the best smile ever.

Oh that is so unbelievably precious. I live literally 3 miles down from the race track and it was a NIGHTMARE of traffic on Sunday. We got pulled over trying to get into our neighborhood, so I didn't have the best attitude towards Nascar. BUT, seeing him that happy makes up for it :-)
ReplyDeleteThis post made me so happy! Landon loves racing, too, but not to this degree. I can't even imagine how excited Milo was! I think that last picture says it all. We are headed on the camping trip this weekend. Think about us as you are cozy in your beds, and we will be in a tent in 50 degree weather :-)
ReplyDeleteNever thought NASCAR would make me cry.....but you've got me sniffling over this post! The joy in his face is amazing! What an incredible day and how wonderful that it was gifted to y'all :)

ReplyDeleteUm... when I got to the picture of him with Joey, I started crying! I'll blame it on the pregnancy hormones... or the sweet music in the background... or the fact that is was just that precious. LOVE it. :)
