Christmas Shenanigans

Christmas Shenanigans

Christmas 2016 highlights!

Well, this year it was a lot more fun (and challenging) with a puppy that wanted to eat all the presents under the tree.  I gave quite a few gifts that were partially already unwrapped, thanks to Albus.

On Christmas Eve Eve, we had a slumber party in the basement, complete with Christmas lights all strung up.  As the seasons come and go each year, there are a few traditions I like to keep (if I did them all every year, it would probably be about 50 traditions, and nobody has time for that).  This Christmas movie + slumber party is a favorite for the kids - even if I wanted to drop this tradition, I wouldn't be able to.

We always give PJ's and books on Christmas Eve.  This year, I decided to go all out and get us matching jammies.  I was sure that at least one of them would throw a fit (cause you know, we can't make them all happy at one time) - but surprisingly, they all thought it was super fun!  AND, they've continued to wear their matching jammies, every night since then.  That's a win in my book.

When Christmas morning rolls around, they see all the presents under the tree, but don't know whose gift belongs to who - they have to find a tiny square of wrapping paper in their stocking to know which paper is theirs.  It's a fun "last minute" surprise - they can see all the presents but don't know which belongs to them :)

We do 3 presents on Christmas morn - a want, a need and a surprise.

Christmas cookies were left out for Santa, only to be licked and munched on by Albus.  I forgot to mention it to Keith and later found out that he ate the cookies after Albus went to town on them. Strengthening that immune system with doggie germs!  #bestmemory I cry laughed for a good 15 minutes when I told Keith about it.

Now, Christmas is over and we are counting down the days till kids go back to school :)

I hope your Christmas was magical and merry and everything in between!
